Push Slide Transition Effect in Adobe Premiere Pro

To create Push Slide Transition Effect in Adobe Premiere Pro follow the steps below and watch the video tutorial.

Step1.

Create the Sequence:

Open the Adobe Premiere Pro and create the new sequence (go to the File ->New->Sequence…)

In the new sequence window, go to the settings and change the frame size to your preferred one. Make sure that the square pixels(Pixels Aspect Ratio) option has been selected. Press Okay.

Step2.

Import images/ videos to the project:

Note: If you don’t have ready images/ videos use mine above for training purposes.

Drag your images/ video to the sequence panel:

In a sequence panel right click on the first square (image/ video) and select the Speed/Duration… option.

Set the duration of the first image/ video to your preferred one and press Okay (repeat with all squares):

To remove the spaces between images/videos right click on the empty space in between the squares and select Ripple Delete (repeat with all empty spaces left.):

Go to the Effects panel and type in a search bar – “push“.

Step3.

Add the push transition:

Drag the searched effect in between the first and second square:

Click on the added effect and go to the Effect Controls panel:

In Effect Controls panel you can change direction and duration of the effect. Repeat with the rest squares (drag and set the effect).

To create the slide text effect in Premiere Pro you will need to have the text in .png format (for the learning purpose you can use mine below, or create your own for example in Adobe Photoshop, or by using different software).

Step1.

Create a new sequence

Open Adobe Premiere Pro and create a new sequence:

Step2.

Import a video (optional)

Import a video and drag it into the sequence. Got to Effect Controls to fit the video into a frame (scale, position):

Import your text

Import your text and drag it into the sequence:

Step4.

Create a slide effect

Click on the first text and go to the Effects panel and type in the search bar – crop:

Drag the Crop option into the Effect Controls panel:

Crop your text from the top and bottom:

Go to the Effects panel and type in the search bar – transform (distort):

Drag the Transform option into the Effect Controls panel above the Crop option.

In the Transform option go to Position and add the first stopwatch. Click on the stopwatch and change the vertical position of the text (move the text down):

You can notice that the first text disappeared (went down outside the cropped area):

Move the blue line to the right (0.2-0.5 second) and add the second watch stop:

You can play your video to see the effect. To make the slide effect more smooth select both stopwatches and right-click, go to Temporal Interpolation and choose the Ease In or Ease Out option.

Click on the second text and repeat the steps from the first text (Crop, and Transform):

You can move the first stopwatch and the second stopwatch to the right to make a delay in appearing of the text (the second text will appear after the first text):

How to export high-quality GIF from Adobe Premiere Pro? (Photoshop solution)

It’s easy to learn how to make a video into a GIF with Adobe Premiere Pro however sometimes the quality of a GIF can be lower than you expect.

Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editor and is not the best tool for creating a small size GIF.

If you tried exporting GIF from Adobe Premiere Pro using the “animated GIF” option, but the image output was still poor no matter what settings you chose, you can try to fix this issue with help of Adobe Photoshop.

To export high-quality GIFs using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop follow the steps below and watch the video tutorial:

Step1.

Open the Adobe Premiere Pro and create the new sequence (go to the File ->New->Sequence…)

Go to File->Import, and select the video that you want to make into the GIF.

Drag your video to the sequence panel:

If your video is in a different size then your sequence will pop the information with Clip Mismatch Warning. Press Keep Existing Settings to do not change the sequence frame size.

After dragging a video to the sequence panel your video may not match with the sequence. To fix this click on your video in the sequence panel and go to Effect Controls.

In the Effect Controls panel go to the Scale. Use the horizontal slider to fit the size of your video to the sequence.

If you want to move a video horizontally, or vertically go to the Position option (in the Effect Controls panel).

The first value in the Position option defines the horizontal position, the second value defines the vertical position. Change the values to set the wanted position of your video.

Go to File->Export->Media..

In the Export Settings, go to the format and select from the drop-down menu an option H.264 (to export a video in mp4 format).

At the bottom of the Export Settings, select the part of the movie that you want to export. On the right side of the Export Setting, you can change the name of your movie and the localization. Press Export.

Step2.

Adobe Photoshop

Open Photoshop and go to File->Import and select an option Video Frames to Layers…

Choose a video exported from Adobe Premiere Pro, and make sure that the option – Make Frame Animation is ticked.

Go to Window->Timeline to see the timeline (all frames):

To export GIF in Photoshop go to File->Export->Save for Web(Legacy)…

Make sure that exported file will be in a GIF format. Change the Looping options to Forever. Press Save…
